IS A MEME? |

Words
and images form the fabric of culture, but it's people just
like you and me who manufacture these words and images.
One new paradigm of information as it interacts with human
minds involves "hypostasis", which means "not
quite stable" - ideas that are designed to travel from
mind to mind until they're socially understood by the culturally
literate. These ideas have been termed "memes"
by communications theorists, and I've got some ideas about
them.

| Hermeneutics is the study of methods of concealing hidden wisdom in text. It's sort of a spiritual textual analysis and here are some notes I took on the subject.

| Doesn't
Christianity tell its adherents to turn the other cheek
and "judge not"? Then why are Christians so judgemental?

| The
internet has the power to change the way we interpret the
news. We now have access to more alternative viewpoints
and information than ever.

| What
most people call freedoms - such as speech, assembly or
religion - are not granted by the state, but by nature.

| For
twelve years I stood every morning and saluted the US Flag
with the Pledge of Allegiance, which speaks of "liberty
and justice for all". As an adult I marvel at the
efficacy of this bit of brainwashing.

| Capitalism
isn't the only way to run a technologically-advanced society. Autonomy is
the reason everything wouldn't fall apart if it were to
crumble.

|
| Money
is like blood. It needs to circulate. If you let it pool
in one part of society for too long your society might
lose consciousness.
